Spectre's origins, as the story goes, is that he was conjured up by the very fears and dark secrets that all mankind hold within themselves. Spectre exploits those fears and weaknesses which gives him a clear advantage over his opponents. It is said he comes from "The Deepest Corners of Your Mind", deep within our subconscious, where all our darkest secrets, fears, and weaknesses lie dormant.
Spectre first appeared in a very small wrestling organization known as the Neighborhood Wrestling Orginization in 1991, where he was dominant over many opponents. His greatest opponent was The Unknown.
In 1996 he signed on to the Internet Wrestling Organization where over the course of 18 months he had the 2nd best overall win/loss record, and held the company's World Heavyweight, United States, Tag, and TV Titles. It is also where the stable known as The Dominion was born, of which Spectre was the co-creator. In a major battle against another stable known as The Organization, Spectre pulled off a major swerve on The Organization, by having Sabu Ubas, join The Organization, only to have Sabu turn on them and join The Dominion. Among his greatest opponents was Mister Fantastic, who joined Spectre as part of the Dominion.
After IWA shut down in 1998, Spectre was in a very short lived ICWF.
At the end of 1999 Spectre was approached by a young and aspiring fed owner Ben Halkum. This began a friendship and mutuarespect between owner and wrestler that still stands to this day. Spectre's first appearance in the UTA was at Black Horizon 1999, which would change the course of both Ben and Spectre. Over the course of the next 6 years, despite Ben Halkum's sometimes personal issues causing the closure of the UTA for 6 times, Spectre was always there when the doors to UTA would reopen. Spectre was a multi-time World Champion, and would hold various other titles, including Wrestler of the Year and Match of the Year.
By the time 2006 rolled around, and in between one of UTA's closures, Spectre joined BACW (Bad Ass Championship Wrestling. Sensing a change was needed in the overall direction of wrestling, and how it was presented, BACW stood out above all other wrestling organizations, which at that time were still oversaturated with cookie cutter wrestling organizations. In a move that shocked literally everyone, including everyone backstage, Spectre not only was given a World Heavyweight Title opportunity, he also emerged the match as winnder an NEW BACE World Heavyweight Championship.
Spectre has gone on record as saying that BACW was where he had the most fun, creatively, and physically in the ring. His loyalty to BACW and Brad Batee, the owner, earned him praise and trust, and an World Heavyweight Champion an astounding 8-times. The running joke, which Spectre started as a rib, was that anyone who defeated Spectre for the Heavyweight Title, suffered from "The Curse". The Curse was basically a fate suffered by the new titleholder, and most of them could not hold on to the title for very long. On two separate occasions, they lost the title very same night. Some of his biggest rivalries was Matt McClain, Derek Parks, Chris Ross and Sean Jackson.
By the beginning of 2013, Spectre felt his time in wrestling was beginning to wind down, and thus stepped away from the ring for nearly two years.... until an old friend came knocking- Ben Halkum. UTA was back open again. While Spectre at first declined the offer, once he found out an old nemesis, Sean Jackson was in the UTA, and was World Heavyweight Champion, Spectre knew he had a receipt to deliver to Sean, as Sean had cost Spectre one of his title reigns in BACW. Revenge was sweet and Spectre did deliver a receipt. While this stint in UTA was fun, the nostalgia had worn off, and Spectre knew that his time in UTA had come and gone, and it was time for newer stars to be elevated.
Yet, still looking for that itch, and wanting wrestling to "evolve" and take that next step, Spectre sought out a new company. The company turned out to be PWA- Promo Wrestling Organization. Despite his body now not being able to take as much punishment, Spectre felt he had to deliver each time in the ring. He was able to become a multi-time World Heavyweight Champion, and had some notable feuds during his time in PWA. Unfortunately, PWA owner Dylan Mays, also suffered the same fate as Ben Halkum with his unreliability at the time causing the ultimate downfall of PWA, despite trying to be revied several times.
Eventually Spectre found his way into the controversial iW, ran by David Jones. Though somewhat successful iW, he realized he just wasn't going to be a "David Jones guy". This was especially evident when, after a major feud with Sean JAckson, who was also in iW, a feud that had a slow burn that lasted for nearly a year, David Jones comments regarding the hellacious match between Spectre and Sean Jackson. Though many loved this match and the story told by both mean, and the hard work they put into the feud and final match, Jones barely made any comments about the match accept to say "Well I'm glad Sean Jackson won his match."
Ironically, it was after this match in iW, and the subsequent controversy surrounding the main event, that SEVERAL wrestlers in iW pulled a coup and walked out of iW, and formed HSW- High Society Wrestling. Though this company only lasted 1 year, the FUN was back in Spectre's eyes, and he found rejuvenation in his love for wrestling. Spectre has the distinction of being only ONE out of THREE World Heavy weight Champions in HSW.
Spectre's final stint in wrestling was from 2022 to 2023 in Blood Legion Wrestling. More blood, more stories. But none compared to the on-again, off-again friendship between Sean Jackson and Spectre. Their feuds seemed to be more epic than their co-existence. Spectre's last match was against Sean Jackson in a Loser MUST RETIRE match . Though Spectre dominated in the match and seemed to be one step ahead of Sean, something appeared to have happened during that match, and the gleam in Spectre's eyes seemed to be one of malice and spite. In a move obvious to some and yet oblivious to others, Spectre, who had Sean dead to right in a pinning situation, seemed to flip Sean over on to him and just laid there while the ref counted 1,2,3.
Spectre's career was over, after spending literally half his life in the wrestling business. But the fun he had playing the game, no one could ever take that away from him, as he lived out a dream only few could ever hope to achieve.
