The Road to the Throne Begins: Ring King 2026 Takes Shape
The road to becoming Ring King officially begins.
The United Toughness Alliance has announced the qualification process for the 2026 Ring King Tournament, a sixteen-competitor tournament that will culminate on September 26 in Los Angeles with one competitor earning the right to be called the 2026 Ring King.
And this year, the crown comes with something more.
The winner of the 2026 Ring King Tournament will receive a guaranteed UTA Championship opportunity. The lone exception would be if the reigning UTA Champion wins the tournament, with Chris Ross currently holding the UTA Championship heading into the Road to the Throne.
Six Champions Already In
Six of the sixteen positions have already been claimed.
As part of the Ring King format, every current UTA singles champion has automatically secured entry into the tournament:
- Chris Ross — UTA Champion
- Hakuryu — United States Champion
- Bobby Dean — International Champion
- Mikey Unlikely — WrestleZone Champion
- Samuel Scythe — Fighting Champion
- Emily Hightower — Women's Champion
That leaves ten spots remaining.
Twenty UTA competitors have been selected to compete across the next two shows, with each placed into a randomly drawn singles qualifying match. Win, and they're going to Ring King.
Lose, and the road ends before the tournament even begins.

When the dust settles on August 14, the field will be complete.
