At Universal Studios Orlando’s WrestleZone during WrestleUTA: Orlando's IN THE ZONE, sixteen competitors clashed in a high-octane Men’s Battle Royal for the inaugural Florida State Championship—and when the dust settled, it was Jarvis Valentine who emerged victorious, etching his name in UTA history as the first-ever titleholder.
Early Chaos and Explosive Eliminations
From the opening bell, bodies flew in every direction.
-
Alexander Hill vs. Brandon Henderson: John Phillips set the tone—“Alexander nearly dumped Brandon with a running power slam, but Brandon landed on his feet and knocked Alexander out with a spinning heel kick.”
-
Aaron Shaffer vs. Nicholas Herrera: Mark Bravo marveled at the intensity—“Trading German suplexes, but it was Ryan Munoz who sparked the night’s first big elimination, surprising Herrera with a superkick on the apron.”
-
Cristian Santos’s Impact: Phillips called it perfectly—“Cristian hit a standing moonsault on Donald Reid, sending him tumbling over the ropes and out by the steel steps.”
Valentine’s Arrival and Mid-Match Mayhem
Jarvis Valentine made his presence known early:
Mark Bravo: “Jarvis began his march to gold with a double belly-to-back suplex on Daniel Lawrence and a second-rope blockbuster on Timothy Wong in rapid succession.”
Alliances formed and fractured in rapid order:
-
Juan Calderon and Angel Perez teamed to take out Gerald Moore—until Moore powered out, hit a crucifix bomb on Perez, then back-elbowed Calderon over the top rope.
-
Soon, only five remained: Henderson, Valentine, Moore, Santos, and Rico Vance. Santos struck first with a superkick attempt—but Valentine countered, driving Cristian into the ropes with a spinebuster to eliminate him.
The Final Four and the Road to Gold
Gerald Moore charged Valentine, but Jarvis ducked and answered with a sidewalk slam onto the floor—Moore was gone, leaving three men to battle for history.
Mark Bravo: “In the final three—Jarvis, Brandon, and Cristian—Cristian launched himself at Brandon only to be caught mid-air by Jarvis, who turned it into a thunderous powerbomb out of the ring!”
That iconic spot set up the ultimate showdown: Jarvis Valentine vs. Brandon Henderson. Henderson struck back with a blistering gutbuster, yet Valentine reversed his final charge into a devastating Death Valley driver. Seizing the moment, Jarvis hit his finisher, the Q Drop, and hurled Henderson over the top rope.
Coronation and Celebration
As the referee raised Jarvis Valentine’s hand, the WrestleZone erupted in cheers and confetti. “Pure power conquers all,” John Phillips declared as Valentine, breathless and beaming, hoisted the brand-new Florida State Championship belt.
Backstage, Melissa Cartwright caught up with the new champion:
Melissa: “Jarvis, you’ve just made history. How does it feel to be our first Florida State Champion?”
Jarvis: “Unreal. Every suplex, every blockbuster—it all led to this. This belt belongs to everyone at the Orlando camp who believed in me.”
What’s Next for Valentine?
With this landmark victory, Valentine is already eyeing challengers in WrestleUTA: Orlando, with his first defense next week against a mystery opponent. However, before then, the champion will face B.R Ellis at this week's Jackpot in the UTA Championship tournament. Could he go on to hold both titles at once?
UTA fans can witness Jarvis Valentine defend his title every Wednesday on the WrestleUTA YouTube channel—or, for Central Florida locals, catch the live tapings free with theme-park admission.
